The president made the disclosure when he visited the victims at the Sunyani Regional Hospital in the Brong-Ahafo. The carnage ended the lives of about 70 persons.
At least 23 passengers were injured and have been on admission in various hospitals in the region.
The president who was accompanied by NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also donated assorted items to the accident victims and other patients on admission at the hospital.
The items included cartons of Milo and Milk.
Other victims have been admitted at the Techiman Government Hospital and the Holy Family Hospital.
Six of them who are said to be in critical condition have been transferred to Accra for further treatment.
The president’s visit comes after a delegation led by the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. Eric Opoku was sent from the Flagstaff house to have firsthand information about the disaster.
President advised drivers to be extra careful on the roads, noting that the rate of accidents in the country is the highest in the sub region which, he said was unacceptable.
