Former IBF Welterweight titlist Joshua ‘The Grandmaster’ Clottey will mount the ring on Saturday, May 9 when he fights Mexican Jorge Silva at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, USA.

The fight will be one of the undercards for the Canelo Alvarez-James Kirkland 12-rounder.

Clottey has won his last three fights and pundits are expecting him to beat the 23-year-old in order to set up a clash with Canelo.

The two had been scheduled to fight in December last year but the Mexican withdrew, citing an injury suffered during training.

Clottey is currently ranked 3rd by World Boxing Association and 8th by World Boxing Council.

A win over the unrated Mexican will see Clottey meet his compatriot in September.
